Tweaking your blog can be so Frustrating!

Hi guys and gals. I have to say I’m a freakin tweaker. I know I said my site was done but there were things I wanted to fix. For instance, I didn’t like that when someone clicked to follow me on twitter or facebook, etc. they would leave my page. I hate when that happens, why couldn’t a new tab open up? It took me awhile to finally fix it by adding a target=”_blank” to the code. I went on a support board and those people made me work for it, they weren’t very friendly about it either. They could of saved me a few hours if they just wrote the two sentence code out for me but instead they barked at me on how I was doing it wrong. This thread had to be before that and so on. I had no idea what they were talking about, but I fooled with it and finally got it right.

Then I didn’t really care for how my WWSGD (what would Seth Godin do) plugin. For one thing who the heck is Seth and maybe I don’t like what he does. For you bloggers who utilize that plugin you know what I’m talking about, I’ve come to learn it is your welcome or welcome back message that displays prominently on top of each post. But, it was blah blah blah in my opinion. Some graphic artist could make a mint if they made up cool picture frames and stylized options complete with the code to be used with that plugin. If there is one out there, I never found it.

The other thing that took me hours was finding the right social share buttons to use. I must of went through about 20 before I found the right one, where the buttons didn’t overlap, or twitter tweet buttons didn’t show gibberish. Man, why does it have to be such a challenge? And you bloggers know that you have to test each one and play around with the settings to see if it will work.

Then of course I wanted to brand my email, Google+, Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook fan page, etc. but that was really a piece of cake compared to the previously mentioned elements. But dear readers I think I am finally done! Yeah!! and I can focus on all of the projects I have lined up.
