I have a son who is a junior in college and a daughter who attended four years some years back and I just find it ridiculous how expensive their text books can be. Some of these books can cost close to $200. YIKES! After paying tuition, room and food plans, and your child taking four to five classes a semester, who has another $600 to $1000 more for books? My son has been getting some of his books on half.com but it’s not that reliable finding just that one book you need and most of the time it’s not an up to date version. Sometimes the schools bookstores offer used ones but the discount is nothing to write home about. Well I found on Campus Book Rentals a book that he got, Physics of Everyday Phenomena [Hardcover], it is $126.65 on Amazon, probably more at the brick & mortar college bookstores and to rent at campusbookrentals.com it’s $37.70 for the semester. That’s a big savings!!
So when I was contacted by campusbookrentals.com to write a review of their services I was more than happy to do it. I was very impressed with what I found there. My only regret is I wish I had known about them when my son started college because it looks like the longer your relationship with Campus Book Rentals, the more perks you can earn. Here is the highlights of going with Campus Book Rentals.
- Save 40-90% off of bookstore prices!
- Free shipping both ways!
- Highlighting in the textbooks = Allowed!
- Flexible renting periods!
- Their 30 day return guarantee for a full refund! (in case you drop a class)
- A 15 day grace period in case you need it just a little longer! (that’s like 15 days free)
- Get paid for referring friends! ($5 for every friend you refer)
- Chance to win one of their scholarships each semester!
- Monthly giveaways!
- Excellent toll free customer service!
Another great thing about campusbookrentals.com is that they give back. They have partnered up with operationsmile.org! Operation Smile is a charitable organization that is made up of medical professionals who provide safe, effective reconstructive surgery for children born with facial deformities such as cleft lips and cleft palates whose families could not otherwise afford it. Since 1982, Operation Smile has provided more than 200,000 free surgeries. A pretty worthy cause I think and Campus Book Rentals have pledged to donate a portion of the proceeds from every book rented to Operation Smile with a goal of 1,000 smiles! How cool is that?
In my book going with Campus Book Rentals is a no brain-er. Here is a little funny entertaining video the good people at Campus Book Rentals put together.
